PARENT/FAMILY SERVICES

This unit coordinates a network of student services (health and social, mental health, counseling) and empowerment of families within the district and larger community. Personnel in this office will facilitate student achievement/adjustment in the school by helping to identify and resolve familial, social and emotional issues so that the student may receive maximum benefit from his/her daily educational experience.

Coordinates crises intervention for students and their families (including juvenile court issues)
Student transitions to and from the alternative school
Assists schools and parents to identify specific ways in which to advocate/collaborate within the academic process
Develops programs and preventive strategies for those students who may be at risk of academic failure or those who may be behind in their studies
Parent Community Advisory Committee (PCAC)

STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT/DRESS CODE
The goal of the Board of Education is to establish and maintain a safe and orderly environment that improves the opportunities for learning and the development of self-discipline and citizenship in our schools. The learning community of parents, teachers, students and all district employees must work together on conduct and behavior so that we can achieve a positive learning environment and teach important lessons about character and citizenship! A uniform discipline code has been established for all students enrolled in the Normandy School District to address discipline and the dress code.
